Coolangatta State School is an inclusive school catering for a diverse range of students. We are a small, friendly school of some 300 students from prep to year 6.
We have high expectations that every student will grow in achievement and meet with success as they strive to do and be their best.
We are focused on learning in a safe, supportive and disciplined environment where quality learning outcomes are sought for every student.
In partnership with parents, we endeavour to provide the optimal conditions to maximise the potential for learning through promoting and teaching healthy body and brain concepts, Smart Choice Food and the need to be active, energised and fit through Smart Moves. Our schools Values and Whole School Responsible Behaviour develop social, emotional and organisational skills and positive attitudes. Students are supported through proactive early identification for learning and behaviour.
We encourage parents to play an active role in their child’s education. Most importantly, we ask parents to talk to their about = what they are learning and to support them in improving their standards. We ask that parents keep up to date with their child’s progress through keeping in touch with their child’s teacher. We invite parents to take part in special days and volunteer to assist with a variety of school activities as they are able. Through parent interest and involvement, we believe that students will thrive as learners.
