'If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be very intelligent, read them more fairy tales.'
Albert Einstein
With many online distractions, and many after-school activities, fewer children are reading for pleasure but research shows sinking into a book has academic and emotional benefits for young people.
Research shows that reading for pleasure promotes imagination, creativity, relaxation, improved self-esteem, intellectual pleasure, enhanced general knowledge, emotional intelligence and mental health benefits.
