ANZAC Day: Once again, our school ANZAC service was very special and moving. Students displayed much pride and respect in the solemnity of the occasion. Our guest from the Coolangatta Tweed RSL, Mr Dixon introduced us to a 92 year old spitfire fighter veteran from Kirra Haven who attended our service along with other residents. Ex CSS pupil Mrs Lorna Skelton also attends every year. Her brother Clarrie died in service on the Kokoda trail in New Guinea. His photo proudly hangs in our foyer, along with other past pupils who have given their lives in service and whom we remember each year.
Special thanks to Mrs Ireland and year 7 students and Mrs Cronin and Junior Gold for their contribution to the assembly and to all classes for the wreaths they made to lay at our Gallipoli Garden.
Thank you also to all students and their families who represented our school at the ANZAC March. Our school stood out proudly.
